Congratulations! Your going to be a mommy! There is nothing more heartwarming than knowing that you and your mate are going to bring another human into this world, into your home and most importantly into your hearts! That being said, your going to need things for your tiny human! Whats the most important thing that you need for your little bun when they arrive, you ask? Diapers, Diapers, Diapers! There is NO getting around that fact!

There are a lot of options! Are you going to go with disposables or cloth? After you figure that out, you will need to pick which brands, sizes, and how many! Seems like a lot to take in huh? Well I am hoping that by the end of this post you will have made your choice, and at least one stress has been taken from your very heavy shoulders!

*Cloth*

I personally would buy 2 to start out with, with extra liners, because you are going to be changing your tiny human a lot!

Pros:
  • Cost- You can reuse them, which saves $$ in the long run!
  • Its healthier for your baby- some babies are allergic to some disposables
  • It cuts down on trash, so its better for the environment
  • They are super cute!
Cons:
  • The upfront cost
  • You have to wash them! (You can use a laundry service, but the bill will add up quickly!
  • They are NOT leak proof
  • Not everyone knows how to change a cloth diaper, so be ready to teach anyone who watches your baby!
  • They are more time consuming

*Disposable*

When stockpiling I would skip the NB all together (you will get plenty at your baby shower) and start with at least 1 box each of 1-4! Use coupons, ask your friends and family to start looking for and saving them for you!

Pros:

  • Ease of use
  • Keeps baby dry
  • Everyone can change a disposable diaper!
  • You can just throw them away!
Cons:

  • $$$ on average disposable diapers will run you anywhere from $30-$60 per month
  • More trash
  • They may irritate baby's skin

Remember: "You make your own happiness, it doesn't come to you."
